I agree with you Dan, and I have found out that most of these dating web sites are money makers for sex. I bet you, that if you joined a couple years ago, and have not logged in, betca that many of the same profiles are still the there, and no- most are not inactive, some are fake profiles, but most are fat nasty women, that have a picture of themseleves 5, 10 even older, still on the same profile and that is so sad. I think if I ran a dating web site, I would remove any pics on your main profile over 2 years old (plus there are ways to find out infomration how old that pic is , when it was really taken---neat to have todays techno information), so Dan, also, please take it slow with these dating sites....there are comunities for free, just google what you like to do, hobbies, and so on, bet you can find someone without paying these flithy pigs money every month.... take care, and save a buck/

yep I joined this site figured I would save money by signing up for a few months on a payment plan. after a month I had sent dozens of messages and not a single response. most sites I get at least some responses I may not be super good looking but i'm not to bad. They wouldn't give my money back till i threatened them with legal action but I got my account canceled and my money back. definitly the site I hate most of all the ones I've tried.

My experience with e-harmony is also negative. I have tried it on three separate occasions, because I was lured into the prospect of thinking "this time it will be better." It never was better... I suspect as the previous poster said, that they keep inactive profiles on their website to create this illusion that there are "thousands upon thousands" of people you could match to at any one time. But I suspect most of the profiles are from accounts that have expired long ago--or at least, you don't get a response when you attempt to initiate conversation with most people you talk to.

I also worry that dating sites like these use fake profiles of "attractive" people who will send you an e-mail 1 or 2 days before your membership is about to expire, to lure you into renewing your membership and paying additional money. Then, after you renew it, you discover the person that was talking to you earlier no longer is talking to you...

Forget it I won't use these guys again.
