I have experienced the same thing described by Carlton.
I am in love with Japan country and culture and I know how sweet Japanese girls might be. So I joined and completed my profile with full information about myself. I am a gentle and calm guy. I am around 30 so I'm not even that old. I described myself completely: my interests, what I am looking for, etc.
I upgrated to gold in order to send (and read) messages. I think I have sent like 30 messages around. I got just 2 answers back (excluding 2 scams attempts).
The first girl wasn't even Japanese. The second one seemed interested but she went offline for like days before answering me back.
All the other girls (pretty or not) just read my messages, sometimes they visit my profile and then they ignore me.
